Family Council
Purpose
The Family Council is designed to provide assistance, information and advice to the
residents, their family members and persons important to residents regarding their
rights under the Act. The Family Council sponsors and plans activities for residents;
provides support and educational programs; collaborates with community groups
and volunteers concerning activities for residents. Any family member, or persons
important to the resident, may join the Family Council.

Supported by the Ontario Family Councils Program, there are regular forums for education throughout the year relative to Long Term Care Homes.

Opportunity to add your voice to issues that can be a catalyst for positive changes in the daily lives of residents at Westhills.
Provide a means for staff to deal directly with families as a group and vice versa in developing and maintaining relevant programs and services.
